Romantic getaways, heartfelt emotions
1. The Castillo del Buen Amor (Castle of Good Love), in Salamanca
There is a whole literary genre devoted to courtly love and the fights between medieval knights in defence of their damsels. A visit to the Castillo del Buen Amor and the Salamancan lands which surround it invite you to go back to a time full of romanticism in the midst of the 21st century.
Popular legend assures that the fortress was christened, back in the 15th century, as “del Buen Amor” (of Good Love) when it became the property of the Archbishop of Santiago, Alonso de Fonseca, and his lover, María de Ulloa. However, recent studies have discovered that this first hypothesis is not at all correct: it was the Bishop of Cuenca, Ávila and Osma, of the same name, who inhabited this romantic abode. And he did so in the company of his lover, Teresa de las Cuevas and their four children.
Experience your own medieval legend surrounded by Salamancan lands!

2. The splendour of Cordoba in the Hotel Hospes Palacio del Bailio
The beauty of the historic centre of Cordoba, presided over by the mosque-cathedral, invites you to lose yourself in thought and enjoy an atmosphere from times gone by. It takes travellers back to the era of the caliphate, a time of culture, light and romanticism. The Hotel Palacio del Bailio plays justice to this atmosphere.
The Hotel Hospes Palacio del Bailio is the only five star hotel in the province of Cordoba and has been declared a site of cultural interest.

3. Cabañas del Lago de Sanabria, in Zamora: natural love
A romantic break does not always have to be a candle lit evening. More and more couples think that the height of happiness is being able to share the view of a magnificent landscape with their partner. Peace and quiet, silence and nature all make this a special place. In this sense, a stay in Cabañas del Lago de Sanabria comes close to perfection.
A happy couple curls up whilst contemplating nature in the porch of a small wooden house. It is like a scene from a movie, and it is also one of the many possibilities offered by Cabañas del Lago de Sanabria .
Come and visit this jewel of nature in good company!

Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington, the perfect soundtrack for a romantic break. More so if the setting is an old farmhouse in a small town in the province of Badajoz, such as the Cerro Príncipe Hotel.
It is clear that the owners of Hotel Cerro Príncipe, Pepe and Lola, love jazz. On the one hand, all the guestrooms are named after great jazz artists: Billie Holiday, the beautiful Charlie Parker suite with a canopied bed, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong… Their passion has also led them to occasionally live music evenings from time to time.

5. A luxury hórreo (traditional raised granary) in La Quinta de San Amaro (Pontevedra)
The Rías Baixas have always been rather mysterious. It is as if the damp, misty air that it is known for is simply a way of hiding its secrets from outsiders.
La Quinta de San Amaro, in Meaño, is one of those secrets, a splendid hotel worthy of a mention in all guidebooks. From here you can enjoy a clear view of the vineyards, chapels and ancestral homes of Meaño. The hotel complex is made up of three stone buildings, with the hórreo (a traditional granary in Galicia, Asturias and Cantabria) as the centrepiece.

6. The most beautiful spot in Barcelona: the Hotel Neri
Before the walls constricting Barcelona were knocked down, the gothic quarter was a cluster of insalubrious and chaotic streets crowded with people. Nowadays, its beauty and peace and quiet is only broken by a few tourists looking for the perfect spot.
The Plaza de Sant Felip Neri is a serious contender for this title. It forms part of the call, the old Jewish quarter of Barcelona and can only be accessed along two narrow streets leading off Calle del Bisbe, where the entrance to the cathedral's cloister is found.
...are you ready to discover that ideal spot?

7. The essence of Flamenco Seville at La Casa del Maestro
It is true, Seville is especially bewitching and there are many ways of discovering it. One of them is by visiting Santa Catalina, one of the most popular quarters Manuel Serrapí Sánchez was born there in 1904. He was better known in flamenco circles as “Niño Ricardo, el Maestro".
The house where Manuel Serrapí Sánchez was born is now a quaint hotel that enables us to get to know the city better at our own pace. This way, Seville pays tribute to the guitar player who composed “El emigrante”, which was a huge hit when sung by Juanito Valderrama.
Enjoy breakfast on the roof with views of the Giralda!

9. Valldemossa, in Majorca. In the footsteps of Chopin and George Sand
Few places can boast that they were the inspiration for one of history's greatest musicians. The monastery of Valldemossa served as a refuge for Frédéric Chopin and the poet George Sand, who lived an intense relationship. Here is where the virtuoso pianist composed many of his Preludes.
“All that the poet and the painter could dream of, nature has created in this place.” So said Aurora Dudevant, the real name of the poet George Sand, when referring to Valldemossa. Sand arrived in Majorca in the winter of 1838, accompanied by her lover, the famous Polish pianist Frédéric Chopin.
