From Cabo de Gata (Almeria) to Granada     

The point of departure is Cabo de Gata Natural Park, a place with impressive volcanic scenery and beaches with crystal clear waters. 

This 210 kilometre route runs through the dunes of the Tabernas desert, the natural backdrop for hundreds of Westerns. After going through several white villages in the Alpujarra region in Almeria, you will reach the peaks of Sierra Nevada.

Cistercian Route (Catalonia)     

This is the route that links the monasteries of Poblet, Santes Creus and Vallbona de les Monges. It comprises around 40 kilometres of uneven and mountainous relief. 

There are woods, rivers and high altitude roads that provide impressive views. During the route, which runs through 65 municipalities of the provinces of Lleida and Tarragona, you will be able to see a wide range of architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Modernist on an itinerary surrounded by vineyards.

From Ciudad Rodrigo to Fermoselle (Salamanca and Zamora)     

This 170 kilometre route begins in the walled city of Ciudad Rodrigo. The itinerary goes through places such as Lumbrares and La Gregeneda, where there is a 17 kilometre Green Route, with tunnels and aqueducts. 

Later, you can stop off at Corporario and Pereña, which you will have to go through to reach the Pozo de los Humos, an impressive waterfall with a 50 metre drop. The circuit finalises at the walled complex at Fermoselle.

The Route of the Dinosaurs (La Rioja)     

It is advisable to start this route in the village of Enciso where there is a Paleontological Interpretation Centre that describes how to find and admire the numerous traces of dinosaurs that can be seen along the way. 

This route is simple as the sites are well signposted and the road is completely asphalted. Particularly worthy of mention are the life-size recreations of dinosaurs together with the fossilised footprints and an enormous fossilised trunk at Igea.

The Beech Forests Route (Madrid and Guadalajara) 

This 396 kilometre route runs through the beech forests in Montejo in the northern Madrid mountains, La Pedrosa in Segovia and Tejera Negra in Guadalajara. 

Prior reservation is required to visit the beech forests. Along this route, which is made up almost entirely of mountain roads, we recommend a visit to Algete, Robledillo de la Jara, La Hiruela, Riaza, Patones or Torrelaguna.

Hoces del River Duraton (Segovia) 

One of the longest routes (360 kilometres ) that begins at the Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park. 

This incredible natural area is the nesting place for 500 pairs of griffon vultures, as well as golden eagles and hawks. This route, which starts in Madrid, runs through many particularly charming villages: Colmenar Viejo, Miraflores de la Sierra, Lozoya, Pedraza and Burgomillodo, among others.

From Leon to Ponferrada (Leon) 

This route begins in Leon's impressive historical quarter. Moving off towards Carrizo de la Ribera you will reach the Honroso Bridge, a national monuments that brings to mind the Way of St. James pilgrimages. 

In Astorga, you can visit the Episcopal Palace, designed by Gaudí. Upon reaching Ponferrada, after 110 kilometres, you will be able to admire the Castle of the Knights Templar and the Baroque Church of San Andres.

From Madrid to La Alcarria 

Your first stop could be for a stroll around the cobbled streets of Pasterna, a village that has been declared a Historical Artistic Ensemble and is at the heart of Alcarria honey country. 

The huge Entrepeñas dam provides panoramic views from the viewpoints hung vertically on its walls. Do not miss taking the road that borders the reservoir and runs through villages such as Pareja or Duron. Finally, in Brihuega you will be able to get a supply of the renowned honey before starting on the journey back.

From Madrid to El Tiemblo (Madrid and Avila) 

Going towards San Martin de Valdeiglesias along the “Reservoirs Road”, this route is full of bends and is perfect for the more expert motorcyclist. 

A small detour will take you to the Toros de Guisando, four beautiful sculptures worked in granite that date back to the 3rd and 4th centuries BC. After this, enjoy the excellent scenery and the winding road that will take you to El Tiemblo and the Burguillo Reservoir. In the Valle de Iruelas Natural Reserve you can take a horse ride, do some trekking or simply rest before starting back.

Atapuerca Sites to Carrion de los Condes (Burgos and Palencia) 

This 115 kilometre route commences as the Sierra de Atapuerca Archaeological Sites (UNESCO World Heritage Site). 

On the road to Burgos you will see the Huelgas Reales Monastery. The route continues through the villages of Albillos, Cabia and Estepar where there are some magnificent stately castles. The last stop is at Carrion de los Condes, home to the emblematic San Zoilo Monastery, today converted into a hotel.
